A Unique Wildlife Vacation Experience that Supports Our Preservation Efforts and Community

Cielo Ranch Reserve is a reforestation and habitat rejuvenation project dedicated to conservation and eco-tourism. Cielo Ranch Reserve was created to promote the positive effects of reforestation by creating new forests and protecting existing forests. The project was started in 2006 on an old abandoned dairy farm in the northern territory of Costa Rica. The property was initially reforested with over 13,000 tree saplings, with most of the reforestation efforts focused primarily on the old pastures and areas surrounding the rivers, dried-up springs, and streams. Over the years we have continued to plant trees in other areas of the property and have additional areas set aside for future reforestation projects.

After 16 years, the reserve is now an island of new forest growth and biodiversity. One of our most celebrated achievements is the return of the Great Green Macaw, which visits the reserve every year from October to December. You are almost guaranteed to spot them feeding on seeds from our Teak and Mountain Almond trees if you visit during this time of the year. It is truly an incredible sight to see the positive effects that reforestation and preservation can have in such a short period of time.

Our main goal is to demonstrate the positive effects that reforestation and preservation can have on the environment, as well as local economies. We achieve this by inviting visitors to come to see and experience first-hand, what can be accomplished by simply planting trees and limiting human access to land.

Eco-tourism is a very important part of our project as it helps us generate the funds necessary to reforest new areas and maintain and protect existing reforested and primary forest areas. To promote Eco-tourism in our community and for the Cielo Ranch Reserve project, we created our high-end vacation home rental "Casa Cielo Jungle House and Casita Loft".

Casa Cielo Jungle House Complex is suitable for groups and families with up to twelve people. This newly constructed modern jungle pad gives guests full access to our extensive trail systems, allowing guests to see the diverse flora, fauna, and spectacular views on the reserve. Situated at the edge of a reforested corridor, guests can experience the jungle in comfort and style. A perfect escape to recharge and reconnect to nature with family and friends. The Casa Cielo Jungle House Complex is also available for retreats, small weddings, and special events.
